Tiny Tales Untold 2012 Week 23- Saskia's 13th

This week in Stockley-ville was a double holiday week! It started out with WA Day formerly known as 'Foundation Day' and then politically corrected because would you believe it? There was a whole other race of people who lived here before the jolly old white folks. :-) (WA celebrates the Queens Birthday later in the year). We celebrated by putting up some wires for the Bougainvillea- WOO hoo!!!! And playing in the sandpit (photos by Kieran).

Cute?... Why yes I am......

Stuck? You betcha!

Will decided that he wanted to talk about helping Les inflate the Liferaft for news this week so Les brought him home a stash of the stuff that gets chucked out each time a raft is serviced. The baby is not included but he's fairly essential for my survival.

Friday was also a holiday for us as we always spend Saskia's Birthday together. (Although Merenia opted to go to school as they had a Netball Inter-school game and their WA Day Celebration- with a very Founders Day theme to it.... because why break with tradition and acknowledge the truth of the matter?

We went to Spotlight first and got Balloons and then went to spend some vouchers that I had got for 50% off at a Party supplies store.... never again, over priced rubbish. We now have candles, cards and balloons to last us for a while. We left the Sombrero in store but took the sombre baby with us. Then we went to Ikea for a spot of shopping and lunch. The truth of the matter is nobody bothered to do any research as to what we could do on the day, we didn't want to do anything too cool without Merenia, we needed a new rug and dish brush and we like meatballs and jam. After that we headed home and picked up Merenia so we could launch the Balloons before she had to go to netball practice.

Some were less willing to let go over their balloons than others but after prizing their cold hard fist apart gentle encouragement they got the message.

Where's your balloon Tama?

We launched them up at Lions Lookout which has a spectacular view of the city.

From there we dropped M to practice and went on to Kalamunda to grab something for dinner and dessert. We wrote our cards in the evening.

And enjoyed Pavlova!

The next day was Saturday and we resumed our usual level of normality insanity.
