He said that the weather is looking iffy but they are hoping to get in in extra round or two. At the moment they are running alternate snr/jnr rounds. Each round has 6 slots with a 5 minute break in between so taking around an hour and a half to get through. The second round starts in about 20 minutes with Joe up first and then Scott in slot two and Les flying around 10:30pm our time.
Les said the wind is coming from behind them through the no fly zone. On his first flight he went downwind (I think) and found some fairly decent lift out on his own came back at 6 and a half minutes to where the others were and had significant height on them. He got the 1000 so currently first equal after Rd1.
Joe's flight was good but basically he only had enough height to glide back in for the landing and hit some wind and sink hence the zero landing.
We didn't get time to talk about Scott's. (We talked for way to long anyway!)
The Aussie team is 12th after round one and the Kiwis are 10th.
Hopefully they won't get rained off as the forecast for tomorrow is foul and then after that the weather is supposed to be sunshiney goodness for the rest of the week.
