After Round 5

Joe got 1000 which is his fourth now - he's the only pilot with 4 maxes so will hopefully move him from his current 33rd place into the top spot after Round 6 throw outs. ( 4814.76) (TA= 814.76)

("TA"= Current Throw away)

Les got 998.1 moving him up to 22nd. ( 4966.1) (TA= 983.6)

Scott got 999.1 moving him up to 29th. ( 4876.9 ) (TA= 894.08)

The leader board:

1. Carl 'Emu' Strautins (Aus) 4996.6 (TA= 998.12)
2. Daryl Perkins (USA) 4996.1 (TA= 997.4)
3. Benedikt Feigl (Ger) 4993.8 (TA= 996.69)
4. Phillip Kolb (Ger) 4993.2 (TA= 994.81)
5. Arend Borst (Can) 4993 (TA= 996.84)

And in the teams:

1. Lithuania
2. USA
3. Germany
4. Slovenia
5. New Zealand

19. Australia

For those who don't know the thing about these comps is that the differences are tiny and the throw outs make a big difference- there will be a serious reshuffle after round 6 and then again after round 12 if they manage to get them all in. They are flying late again today so there is a good chance.

The weather seems to be quite variable today with the Germans reporting rougher conditions while the Juniors were flying with a lot missing their times, but much improved now with big thermals- if the online translator has it right.

I get my info from a bunch of places which I have linked to in the sidebar. There are some good photos on the Aussie Facebook page- but they all have copyrights on them so I can repost here. The Japanese team reporter has also posted some great photos as well. Considering how long the day is, how busy the guys can be, and how late they get home it's amazing that they have the time to post- so I am very appreciative of their efforts thanks guys! (and any fellow girls out there!)

I've decided I want to go to South Africa in 2012 and be their roving reporter and unoffical F3J world cup blogger. It would be way cool to collect photos from the participants as well as taking my own. Have an F3J worlds Flickr, blog and you tube channel with interviews from the teams- in all the different languages and blog them all in almost real time! It's so not in the budget so I'll need a sponsor- anyone??
