Round-up~ August

There isn't nearly enough in here to sum up what an incredible month August was- I am not sure we'll ever see another like it... I hope we do though... just not anytime soon!

On our bookshelf this month....

The Children's Writer by Gary Crew, Love and other Excuses by Jane Westaway, The Ruby in the Smoke and the Tiger in the Well by Philip Pullman.

Loving on the box....

Dr Who (Les brought back 'The Specials' DVD), Hell's Kitchen, Outrageous Fortune, Nurse Jackie.

For you...For me?

Les brought back various pressies from his Trip favourites: Kieran- the Jubalani "my most valuable possesion", Will- A lego mini fig torch, Merenia- Schleich horses, Me: Cherry liquer chocs, some G's and some stuff from paperchase! The Dr Who DVD set.

The kids got new clothes from Aunty Rachel.

Kieran brought home pressies from Japan Merenia- Hello Kitty, Will- a Dinosaur, Jake- Pokemon stuff and Mario Car, Tony- a watch, Himself a Mario car.

We got pressies for his host family and from his host family.

Merenia had her birthday- which was a load of cash, vouchers, books, and horse stuff mostly.

Germs and bugs and botherations....

TOOTH ACHE!!!! And various other ailments all relating to the antibiotics for the tooth ache which really knocked me about. Head ache for Kieran, Sore Throat for Merenia, Temperature/vomitty thing for Will I think (maybe last month). Les has a sore back and an injury from a seat belt.

Today was good today was fun, tomorrow is another one...

Kieran went to Japan and had a lot of good days. Les went to Dole and Paris in France and London and also had a bunch of good days. Merenia went horse riding with Alyssa and we all went to the hotpools. Jim visited and brought Indian Takeaways. MB, Suzy and Jaden visited and brought Chinese takeaways. Les had dinner with the Aunties in London.

Yum, yum, yum....

Lemon heaven! Chocolates and Jelly babies from London. New food experiences for Kieran in Japan and Les in France. New Brulee Fraps- I got a sneak preview!

'It was on sale'....

Scored some books at the op shop. A new can opener- electronic one touch. Photos- have started printing at Noel Leeming and really happy with the results and the location (right across the Rd from Starbucks).

Bugger!

It's been a fairly good month actually.... I can't think of anything.

Hooray!

New Zealand got Gold at the F3J worlds. Merenia's netball team made the final for netball. Kieran's team won their game in Japan.

Kieran's host family was amazing and sent him home with an album full of photos.

Etc...

We survived Les being away in style- even though there were a lot of late nights and a lot going on.

We enrolled Kieran at Massey High School and applied for a place at Westlake- next months big task will be making the final call if he gets a spot at Westlake.

The Rugby season ended and so did netball.... eventually.

I chopped a huge stack of wood!

Les started 'properly' in the Parachute Bay.

You know who's good idea this was? Katie The Scrapbook Lady. Go check out her list of tasks to do at the end of each month as well.
