Out and about: Mandurah water front and canals

We had the best time this past Sunday. It's the first time in a very long time that I can remember having all of us in the car together. When we set out it was raining- one of the first rainy Sundays we have had in a very long time, but by the time we reached our destination the sun was shining!

Tama is not a happy traveller in the car.

But this time he went to sleep with his feet up pretty quickly. :-)

We started out with a look around the market that was happening on the Mandurah Foreshore and then fed the seagulls.

Will spent an extraordinary amount of time trying to get a seagull to feed out of his hand.

Tama spent an extraordinary long time holding onto the same piece of bread.

Then it was time to board the 'Dancing Dolphin'. Will was super, super excited!

Tama spent his trip in the back-pack.

It was a very short time before the skipper of the boat spotted the first Dolphins that he had seen in a few days- lucky!!

There were two dolphins who rode the waves created by the boat and zigzagged from one side of the boat to the other.

I'm sure that Pelicans are related to Pterosaurs- they are like big dinosaur birds!

The cruise we took takes you through the canals- which are all around Mandurah.

Me and T reflected in the window of a building.

Tiny man made beach to check out at a later date.

On one side of the canals are big apartment type buildings and a hotel plus the marina.
On the other side are heaps of avenues of posh houses and slightly less posh holiday homes. All of them have their own jettys and a whole punch of them also have pools.

The cruise takes you past these houses the first ever built in Mandurah.

This is a house boat you can hire- if we didn't have small people this would be pretty cool!

Mandurah Foreshore.

Back on shore.

Will was totally convinced this piece of weed was a Weedy Seadragon!

After the cruise we had ice creams- Burnt Caramel for me (and Tama). Caramel Malteaser for Les.

Ferrero Rocher for Kieran.

Merenia had Tiramisu.

Will had chocolate.

Then we had a play on the playground.

The sun getting lower in the sky made for some really cool light.

This is the Dancing Dolphin- which we went on.

Then we set out for the next part of the day which I'll tell you about later- Tama resigned himself to MORE driving.

By the end of the day we were a kid down and had a car load of sleeping boys.
Will was the last to drop off- he was so full of conversation and excitement.
We made it home around 7pm- grabbing a box of KFC just before we got there.
Yay!
