Dinosaur Habitat

Pinterest has a lot to answer for.

Including the idea above for colouring rice to use for kids play. You add a little food colouring and a little vinegar to the rice in a bag and then mix it till the rice is coated. Then you leave the rice to dry (easily done in the Perth sun).

We then added the rice along with some really bad (for cooking) oats, sand, and stones to a large container.

Will and I made some trees and added tree bark, leaves and gum nuts that we had collected to it before introducing some of our dinosaurs to their new habitat. We also caught the lizard who had hitched a ride in the bark and set him free outside.

When we were done we simply put the lid on the box and stashed it away for another days play.
