Sparks Joy ~ Willows

I grew up among Willow Trees- playing most days at and in the Leith River. They were something to hide in, hand off. Their roots provided space for the ducks to nest and would often reveal a clutch of sweet downy ducklings peeping in urgency at my intrusion. I love the way they hang, long strings of slender leaves stroking the waters surface. Swarths of them making curtains to form a room around the trunk- somewhere to read and a place to spy from, with a delicious filtered sunlight glowing green around me.
