Some say work... others say entertainment

Clean dishes, clean kid, and clean floor. And it kept him busy for an hour or so.
Doesn't get much better than that.

Silver!

Will has managed to get his Bronze and Silver Medallions at school in the space of about 2.5 terms.... I'm not quite sure how a bit of a naughty kid achieves this... I suspect he is charming people in the playground. He does look a bit charming. :-)

Maybe.

This week on the web

Resilience is Futile was an interesting point of view of someone who was involved in a community organisation intended to help people and families in poverty/at risk.

Very interesting article on disciplining kids who are having issues.

Everything else I read on the internet pertained to home schooling and assessment and the like- certainly information I should share - but not now because I am super busy and it's probably better on a different blog.

'You've had a good day son....'

This was a good week....

Because...
...we had a great tickle fight.
... Merenia's room was tidy for about 6 hours.
... I made a cool present for Georgia.
... Hockey was a draw (although they should have won).
... Robert came for a sleepover.
... I finished a book!
... Pies for lunch.
... school went back after the hols and I had a day and a half of glorious freedom.
... I did some scrapbooking.
... It's so much easier to start home schooling in WA.
... Les had a birthday.
... there was cake.
... Buzz bars and chocolate fish!
... Will finished up at school for the foreseeable future.
... I scored some cool resources for Will for home school- and a desk.
... Merenia and Kieran both scored two umpiring gigs on Saturday.
... Tama and I watched Merenia play.

"You've had a good day son"  is the punchline of a joke my dad used to tell about a father, his son, a bear won in a side show at a carnival and a Mini Car... it's a great joke and the one liner punchline has stayed with us for a very long time. This weekly post is about being grateful for the little and big things in our lives and celebrating success the grand and everyday kind.

Girls Suck

Robert called and I went to give the phone to Will

That's when I noticed what he had written.

First Kindy Excursion

Tama had his first excursion at Kindy. They walked down to the park together to collect the Autumn leaves.

Mother's Day at Kindy

Singing me a song. :-)

Morning tea- scones with jam and cream.

Lavender shortbread.

It's me!

Bracelet Making

Nail polish. :-)

And a play!

Nature Trackers

Since I took these photos the boys got real binoculars and their Nature Tracker field guides.... but this is the origin of the game with some very cute toilet roll binoculars. They generally look for Rainbow Lorikeets as they are Will's favourites. I was happily surprised the other day when he identified them just by their call.

John Oldham again

Last time we went to John Oldham Park in the city it was just me and Tama. We needed to take Will into town to get some stuff sorted at the hospital so we took a mental health day to do the job and spent the whole day in town. With a big session exploring John Oldham. The only thing that could make this place better would be free parking and we'd stay all day.
