After Bubblewrap and Boxes we were doing introductions and chatting. Luke happened to ask when we had arrived in Aus to which Merenia replied that we had got here on her birthday. Luke commiserated as he'd missed his own birthday in 2011 as he and Christy were at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I joked that we could have his birthday while he was here.
And then I decided that it was a very good idea.
So after Luke and Christy retired for the evening I made prepartions....
Understandably after a few days of preforming and nothing particular to do Luke and Christy slept in the next morning. The anticipation nearly killed Will. He was already quite enamoured with them both, but Luke especially and so he was absolutely dying for him to get up and open his gifts.
Christy got up first and we showed her the set-up and she encouraged Luke to get up. He didn't see it at first- and got a nice surprise when he realised. Will brought him his gifts and card to open up and 'supervised' the process.
Later in the day we also gave Luke an invite to his party....
A fake birthday is such a fun idea and as all of us have birthdays from June to December- we're seriously considering have a few more fake birthdays in the first half of the year.
