The Ringing of the Bell

Not sure if it happens at all primary schools in WA but it does at Will and Merenia's. On the last day of school there was a final assembly. Merenia's assembly showed the video they had made but not shown at the year 7 graduation. While they were showing it the rest of the school made a tunnel of children for the year 7 graduating class to 'walk' through.

First up they doing the ringing of the old school bell.

Then off through the snaky tunnel of kids. At Merenia's school it lead's back to the undercover area but at Will's school it heads out toward the school gates.

And there she is emerging from under the hands of the Kindy class.

After all the ceremonies were over the kids go and farewell each other. There were a lot of girls with spouting fountains of tears and hugging everyone in sight. (There were some mums with the same- not me, just relieved to end our relationship with the school!) And not Merenia either if anything she was a little hacked off. She said half of these people never talked to me all year and now they want to hug me good bye like we've been the best of friends- ahh no thanks!"
