I'm not sure if this is smart or not. The glider got 'stuck' in the hedge. In other words Will threw it intentionally in the hedge because he likes to experiment with cause and effect and also test the consequences we suggest to him as if they are hypothesis rather than fact. (Ask him about his Wiggles Helium balloon and you'll see what I mean.) So being the smart wee dude that he is he got the chair and a hunk of bark- to get it down.
It didn't work but the idea had some merit and it was fun to observe his thoughts and actions in motion from the kitchen window.
Strange aside: I do believe that is the first time I have ever had to write the word 'ingenuity'.
