Yay my Grandma came from Brisbane and spent the week with us!
It took Tama a while to warm up to her.
It took Will about 3 seconds. About as long as it took him to realise there was someone else to listen to his constant chatter about Dr Who and other things and to answer his questions. And play doctors with.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?
Will was sick when Grandma arrived. He passed it on to Tama, Les and I. Kieran had a mental health day. And Merenia got a (possibly stress related tummy bug). And we dealt with a massive case of nits. SO.... mostly we stayed home apart from a couple of trips to the supermarket.
But we also took her to the Dinosaur place- as Will believes it's a must see. :-)
And we went and took photos at the Orchard. Grandma grew up on an Orchard in South Australia- so lots of memories. And then we went out to lunch.
I was dumped as the Eye drop giver- and Grandma had no howls of protest at all!! (I was a little fearful of how shaky her hand was with the pointy nib of the bottle so close to Will's eyes!)
Les also got dumped as chief-put-him-to-bed-guy.
On Sunday we went to Carousel and Grandma shouted us all Frozen Yoghurts. She also gave the kids $20 each and so they had a bit of a spend-up.
Eventually it was her last day with us- her brother Bob and his wife Beth came and picked her up. I think we were all sad to see her go. It was a nice relaxing week. And we would have been happy to have her for longer. When our Lotto win comes in we're going to build her a Granny Flat and get her to come live with us.
