14 Weeks in 14 (or so)days: Week 37

This week we were greeted to vandalism at it's very lowest... I mean seriously who whacks a family wagon with a bottle on a main road outside a rest home??

Got to meet the local constabulary..

Hung out...

and played games...

Found a heron's nest in a tree next to the house...

Enjoyed the light from the setting sun together...

Reflected on our lucky we were to be welcomed for these past 2 weeks...

Celebrated as the little guy won out over the bigger one...

and gave him a right royal seeing off...
Developed our very own fashion (non)sense...

Relaxed and read...

Got picked up by a towey...

Continued to look like something from a horror film....

Lots of reading...

and playing....

Dined with friends....

Shot the breeze together...

Made slow progress and sometimes, frustratingly, no progress...

Commuted...

With assistance...

on the long road to not home....

getting home....

as the sun was setting....

and the day was ending.

Got a new camera with some funny tricks...

Reclined....

and watched some telly...

Checked out Dad's work....

And celebrated small joys like....

a garage door opener on our own place finally...

Were greeted with lovelies from the land lady...

and awesomeness from the appliance store...

Helped a handyman hang a washing line...

And slept a first night in our own space...

oh the humanity...

I've been up since 5:30.

I've been pee'd on.

I have an egg developing on the side of my face.

I think we have a house inspection today.

And my three year old is wandering around the house crying for the lack of...

.... carrot sticks.

And these are the days of my life. I love them. ♥

14 Weeks in 14 (or so)days: Week 36

 This week we.....

grew more and more interactive by the day...

Dined with friends and family....

and gained a (somewhat unwanted) girlfriend/admirer at Chris and Teresa's place....

Posed on the balcony....

Can you see them??

(Second from the left and second from the top).

Took self portraits....

And took ourselves away....

Made an application for an unfinished rental....

With stacks of potential...

Had Swedish meatballs at a Swedish furniture and more store...

Looked inland over the ocean.... well actually an estuary but it felt like the ocean...

Saw a serious can of bug spray.....

Wrote home...

With kind and loving words....

Relaxed, finally.

Saw spooky on a summers day.

Caught up with the neighbours...

Witnessed the sad reality of Urban sprawl.... the burbs ain't no place to bring your Joeys up.

Got in the Wattle Grove groove....

Had great company even if she was 'unwell'.... :-)

Caught up with another local who was keen and happy to play....

Round-Up~ October 2011

On our bookshelf this month....
Saddle Club for Merenia.
Library books for Will.
Harry Potter for Kieran and perhaps a little Italian.
I've read nothing more than web sites on various things that I need to sort out.... YAWN! Oh and Better Homes and Gardens Mag- I miss Next!
Les is sadly lacking in good reading material too... Airborne Magazine I think. (Stupid limited Library hours).
Loving on the box....
Survivor, The Slap, Dr Who, One Born Every Minute, Letters and Numbers, Spicks and Specks, Rugby. ABC for Kids inclu: Octonauts, Hooray for Huckle, Mister Maker, Lazy Town, Play School and Canimals  And Merenia: Bondi Vet, Recruits:Paramedics, and Netball.
For you...For me?
Send some packages home to NZ some bit and pieces for various people; like marshmallows, jelly, cups and Mojo. I got some birthday pressies. And ordered my Christmas Pressies.

Germs and bugs and botherations....
Toothache for me (read MASSIVE Absess getting bigger day by day). Sore Jaw for Kieran- also tooth related I think.
Today was good today was fun, tomorrow is another one...

Watching the AB's winning the RWC, going to the auction, getting the soil and sand for the garden. Also when the grass got laid. Visitng the garden centre with Tama and looking for the Bandicoot! Will enjoyed his first day at Pre-school. Not so much laying the paving but certainly having it done.

Yum, yum, yum....

First BBQ in Austrlia. OMG desserts esp Creme Caramel. Roast Lamb, Mango Smoothie and Will and I made Strawberry Cupcakes.

'It was on sale'....

Some cool stuff from Purple Pumpkin Crafts October Sale and also a bunch of stuff from Anna's Craft Cupboard. Les ordered up some stuff from Tower Hobbies and Dave Pratley as well. Oh and he brought a new PC as the one Kieran has been using is on the way out so we're all moving up one. New Shoes for the kids.

Bugger!

The guy who installed our Aerial took out the lights. Our house inspection got postponed. The standards and environments for Early Childhood education in our area (and the cost of the crap). Les has to go away next month. Our chosen medical practice sucks and I had a run in with their nurse- we will be changing. The time wasted on sorting out our conscientious objectors forms!! Australia and their levels of security, bureaucracy, wait times (10 WORKING days to process photos!), and general layer of shit on everything. Massive ball of pus in my face!

Hooray!

All Blacks Winning the World Cup! Finally getting internet connected at home. Qualifying for the Child Care Rebate. Finished unpacking finally! Kieran finally started school- and it's a good one! The Immunisation Centre- being reasonable, sensible, and helpful- who'd have thought? Finished unpacking!!!

Etc...

Didn't realise we had voice mail till we got a message :-) then didn't know how to get the message!  Our old neighbour and one of my GaT kids is at K's school. Tama had a follow-up scan and while it wasn't Horizon the Paediatric Radiologist was excellent. Went to the Library. Found a Kindy that looks beautiful and hope to put Tama on the waiting list for when he is 3.5 yrs old- crazy to be thinking of that now!

You know who's good idea this was? Katie The Scrapbook Lady. Go check out her list of tasks to do at the end of each month as well.

Horror-scopes

I'm liking the horoscopes on Stuff today they give you your Halloween Alter-ego- I'm not a fan of Halloween but I like the dressing up ideas:

Merenia/Me (Libra): Your Halloween alter ego: a political leader or royalty from any era from Obama to Marie Antoinette.
Tama/Les (Cancer): Your Halloween alter ego: an Egyptian such as Cleopatra or King Tut, or a mummy.
Kieran (Scorpio): Halloween alter ego: a vampire, zombie, werewolf or other night creature.
Saskia (Gemini): Your Halloween alter ego: a reality-television star such as Snooki, Pauly or Kim Kardashian.
Les/Merenia (Leo): Your Halloween alter ego: a pop star, dead or alive, such as Elvis, MJ, Ke$ha or Justin Bieber.
Will (Sagittarius):Your Halloween alter ego: a space adventurer such as an astronaut, an intergalactic traveler from the realm of science fiction or a space alien.
(Capricorn): Your Halloween alter ego: a baby, a flirty angel or a naughty devil.

As a side note did you know that Les, Merenia, Will, and Tama all qualify as cusp born? No wonder our family has such a full on mix of personalities!
